At the Camaralucida Artistic Residence in Caleta Punta de Choros in the north of the Coquimbo region, Chile, I walked along the periphery of the territory and observed the presence of rubble from constructions blended with the coastal landscape.

With a scanner turned towards the ground I began to study a rubble of wall and rusty iron. From 72 scanned photographs, I created an image that responded to a study of the ruins that hide the landscape.

While I was carrying out this experiment I asked myself: Over time will we transform everything that is in the way into a landscape?

I named the final piece “There were words.”
