THERE WAS A CRACKLING SOUND 2022

Series of performative drawings

Graphite pencil device attached to the heel

Bristol Strathmore paper 300 grams

Variable dimensions

For this series of works, a device made up of a large number of graphite pencils (2B, 5B, 8B) is created and used, which is attached to the heel with the cutout of a bicycle tube. The freedom and ease of the line generated by this performative form of drawing is tense with the difficulty and pain that the device causes on the artist's body. Furthermore, the rhythmic sound component can be evidenced both in the sound of the video that records each action, and in the intensity of the strokes and marks that the device leaves on the paper plane. Finally, for the assembly of the work, the installation of the drawing, the video and the device of pencils as a sculpture are carried out.
