The irrationality of needs can transform the nature of an object and its function. 

 

During the social revolt in Chile, in October 2019, I saw how a young man full of anger, with a large rock, ground stones so that his hooded companions could confront the repressive forces. The same young man, having finished his task at that point, undertook his mission again in another part of the city, going ahead and preparing the path of his companions. 

 

What were once cobblestones had been turned into blunt objects, to be thrown at the police. I recovered some of those stones to scan them, creating an artistic project that would prolong their transformation process.
